General Information about the University of Pennsylvania Sailing Team

The University of Pennsylvania Sailing Team is an age old tradition. Founded in the dawn of collegiate sailing, the team has continued the tradition of fun, exciting and competitive sailing for decades.
The Penn Sailing Team is currently a Club level sport. While this means that we are not a varsity sport at Penn, we do still compete against varsity level teams -- some of the best in the country, in fact!
At present time, our sailing facilities are located at the Corinthian Yacht Club of Philadelphia. The yacht club is roughly a fifteen minute ride from Penn's campus. Our fleet consists of nine new Flying Juniors, which are double-handed competitive racing boats. They are kept on a floating dock, which means easier access to the water and more practice time.
We have both a fall and spring season. See the practice schedule to learn more about when and where we practice.

During both seasons, we have a full weekend regatta schedule of intercollegiate races. We are part of MAISA (Mid-Atlantic Inter-collegiate Sailing Association) and sail both sectional and intersectional races as well as women's and freshmen races.
We are launching a new capital campaign. Thank you very much for your continued support! If you have questions about the campaign feel free to contact Skip Swikart our alumni advisor at swik3@aol.com.
